Prof. Charles Vincent – Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK
Prof. Charles Vincent is a clinical psychologist who initially worked in the British NHS before shifting focus to patient safety research in 1985. He established the Clinical Risk Unit at University College London and later became a Professor of Clinical Safety Research at Imperial College. He served as a Commissioner for the UK Commission for Health Improvement (1999–2003) and advised on major healthcare inquiries. From 2007 to 2013, he directed the National Institute of Health Research Centre for Patient Safety & Service Quality. In 2014, he moved to the Department of Experimental Psychology to continue his work on healthcare safety.
